Good Will finds

you never know what you may find or what may find you.

A few weeks ago, I stopped in a ‘new to me’ Good Will. I love that you never know what you may find, and I also love that shopping there is like shopping in layers. You look around, but then you have to look again and again. The more you look, the more that starts to pop out at you. My cart was full before I knew it, so I had to pair back some. Here’s what made the cut and why…

1.     White bowl – you can never go wrong with a good white bowl. It is one of the work horses around your house. It can go anywhere and hold everything from nothing to everything. Inside or outside. In public rooms or private. I use one for sunglasses, and another for my chapstick collection. Great for flowers, hair ties, cotton balls, or collections. I liked the shape of this one – kind of a gourd, and I also like the raised fruit motif. Reminded me of Italian ceramics.

2.     Next up are these candle holders. They can be used for sticks or tea lights, and can be flipped on either side. They were a nice, thick glass. I like to look for that when buying glass. I also look for delicate, thin, very clear glass. There’s a feel to it all. Cheap glass just has a different look and feel. (or maybe I’m totally ignorant to good glass virtures!) I have these great neon candlesticks that I plan to use in these.

3.     Little shell container – I’ve been watching a little shell container at The Sleepy Poet for months now. I think it’s about $12 and my plan is to use it for paint brushes. I always put it back at the last minute. I do not need another little container for anything and a glass kitchen jar is fine. I found this one for $3 and it’s almost identical. It was definitely coming home with me.
